Actually, everyone was friendly and welcoming from security guard to waiters. The waiter recognised me as a first timer and recommended a dish, which is great. What I disliked, is that all served in one-time bowl and one-time cutlery. Neither authentic, nor eco-friendly. Also, not convenient to eat soup with a kids size spoon. The soup itself tasted so-so. Cant say im impressed. Just normal. The interiror is actually nice, vibing with local culture.

This is maybe the best place that I enjoy a bowl of crab noodle soup in this city. The soup is quite strong and savory. Vegetable is also good, appropriate for the soup. Price is quite cheap also, only vnd40k for a bowl. Lemonade is cheap as well. Especially they offer good breads 🥖, ranging vnd30k for 10 pieces. The only problem is staff attitude, they don’t focus on their job. But we will visit again.

Banh da cua soup is better than banh da cua mix. Nice atmosphere, but staff will try to sell you crab spring roll

This restaurant has high reviews, so I wanted to try it. However, it was not what I expected. The service was unfriendly, but the prices were reasonable.

Travel Cafe Eat Drink - Malaysia & Asia A very interesting history of Banh da cua, a local delicacy of northern port city of Hai Phong. It is said that Hai Phong crab noodle soup has existed since the 10th century. In the old days, its main ingredient is noodles made from rice, and was eaten by dipping them in boiling water. Salt was added to enhance the soup's flavor, and allows the noodle to be preserved for a long time. It was not until the 13th century, chefs added spices to make the dish more delicious. The dish has become more popular and crab-based broth is used instead of boiling water as in the past. A bowl of crab noodle soup includes banh da (rice noodle), crab meat, moc (pork ball), cha la lot (fried minced meat wrapped in betel leaves), shrimp, mantis prawn and dried shrimp in this very local eatery cost VND50K and it comes with heaps of salad for your taking #
