The only highlight of this place is the friendly and polite service — staff are genuinely sweet and attentive. The decor is fairly nice with some bamboo items, and the place is quite clean. However, it gets extremely hot, especially in summer — sitting here feels like you’re being roasted. The food is served quickly, which is a plus, but the rice cakes are dry and hard, much more difficult to eat than at other places. Prices are also higher than average. The restaurant seems popular with tourists, but having tried many bánh ép places, I have to say the food here didn’t live up to my expectations.

Bánh Ép Gia Di was such a fun and tasty first-time experience! I tried a few different types of bánh ép, and personally, I found the ones with pâté to be more flavorful than the egg version — though the grilled egg itself was also very tasty. The textures and flavors were great overall, especially if you enjoy street-style snacks. I also ordered a glass of sấu (dracontomelon) juice, but it wasn’t really to my taste — maybe a bit too strong or sour for my preference. That said, there are plenty of other drinks on the menu you could try instead. I also had the flan, which was decent, though not particularly standout. One tip: try to book a table early if you want to sit outside. The indoor space can feel a little cramped or stuffy, while the outdoor seating is much more open and comfortable. If you’re curious to try some local flavors in a lively setting, Gia Di is a great place to start!

I've been a loyal customer of this snack shop since my student days. Famous for its "Bánh ép" with various toppings, the shop offers a unique experience where you can mix your own dipping sauce and pick fresh herbs to complement the dish. The thinly pressed tapioca pancake, grilled to perfection, is irresistibly chewy and flavorful. One of my all-time favorite dishes here is "Bánh tráng trứng nướng" – crispy grilled rice paper with egg, pâté, mayonnaise, and chili sauce, creating a delightful balance of savory, creamy, and spicy flavors. Another must-try is "Trứng cút nướng phô mai" – grilled quail eggs with melted cheese, rich and indulgent. The shop's atmosphere is spacious and airy, with an open kitchen where you can watch the entire cooking process, adding to the charm. The service is quick, and the staff is friendly, making the dining experience even better. Prices are reasonable, and the variety of dishes ensures there’s something for everyone. Due to my busy schedule (and the fear of gaining weight!), I can only visit every few months, but every time I do, it’s worth it. If you ever travel to Huế, don't miss out on this place. Definitely take home some crispy dried "Bánh ép" as a souvenir—especially the beef and shrimp ones!

An absolute MUST in Hue! Best food we had during our whole Vietnam trip, really good quality for the price (really really good, full table for only 8 USD) - we even are oysters and they were OUTstanding!

The bánh ép here was definitely worth the hype! This spot is super popular with locals, and it was packed when we went, but totally worth the wait. We had a belly-filling meal for just 300k for 4 people, which is such great value. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I’d absolutely come back the next time I’m in Hue!
