We only tried the carbonara udon, so I won’t comment on the other udon dishes as I don’t know how good they are. However, we found the carbonara udon underwhelming for food that you can get only after a 1.5-hour queue. This restaurant is obviously not an expert in crowd control. They will issue you a digital ticket (you are free to leave and do some shopping while you wait for 40-50 minutes), and then have you queue up in another line right in front of the restaurant after your ticket number has been called (another 30 minutes). They somehow won’t let you in as soon as tables become available; they let you in with a weird batch system where multiple groups are allowed to enter at the same time. The food itself wasn’t bad. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the way the udon was made, as it had a nice chewy texture to it. However, I was expecting a thick and creamy white carbonara sauce to come with the udon. I instead felt like the sauce was more soy sauce and dashi-based instead. This might be nice if you’re looking for something not too heavy, but personally, it just wasn’t for me. Price-wise, I consider ¥1000+ for a bowl of udon to be a bit pricey. So for the food I was served, I personally don’t think the price was justified (I don’t think the food was worth the wait too). This is all just personal preference, but I unfortunately found the carbonara udon a little underwhelming. I would give 3.5 stars if that was an option. But if I had to choose between 3 and 4 stars, it would lean more towards a 3.

The udon here is truly delicious. My family and I waited for an hour but it was so worth it. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and every broth tasted very different but equally delicious. During busy hours they give you a menu to contemplate what you want while you wait in line. Once you are three or four parties to the front, they come and take your order. That way you won't have to wait too long after sitting to eat your food. Great system!

Came after the hype and there was a long queue by the time I got there. I decided to wait anyway as I was by myself. I waited for an hour to get a seat inside. Though the server had already taken the customers’ orders while they were waiting in line. It was cozy inside though I felt chilly as they left the door open during dinner hours. I had kake udon with chicken breast tempura and seaweed. Honestly it was the best udon I had yet for my Tokyo trip even though I hadn’t tried other udon yet. The broth of the udon was so clear and flavorful. It was unique in a way that I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Needless to say the noodles were cooked to perfection. They were soft and springy and well complemented with the broth mixed with seaweed. Even though chicken tempura was dipped in the broth it tasted fresh and delicious in its own unique flavor. Not to mention the noodles were freshly made upon orders. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience here and would love to come back to try other udons on their menu one day!

Good tasting authentic style udon, I had the tempura udon. Around 12pm on the weekdays there was a 30 minute wait. If you follow maps it might be hard to find since the name is in Japanese letters on the outside. They have a lot of side seasoning on the counter but you can also ask for the “special spice” which is behind the counter. There is a free option to upgrade to large, but the regular was enough for me.

We were very lucky with the experience. We arrived to the restaurant 30min before opening and were 2nd in line, in front of a big fan. 15min after the staff asked for our order while still in line and we could also see the udon master stretching the dough so was quite fun. At 12:30pm sharp we were seated and a few minutes later the food arrived. We ordered ebi tempura udon and the famous carbonara udon. The noodles are fresh everyday and were super thick and bouncy. Tempura was well cooked, a bit oily flavor and took longer to arrive. The carbonara is interesting but the udon noodles just don’t get the flavor of the dish enough, so it is a bit underwhelming given how it looks. Also the meat is not guanchale so if you been to Italy you will expect that flavor eheh We are fast and left, price was pretty good at 2600y for 2 people with drinks. Not sure it would be worth a longer wait tho.
