⭐ 1 Star… because I’m mad I didn’t book this hotel sooner! If I could give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars, I would. Let me break it down like a proper pro traveler: 1. Hospitality – From the doormen to the front desk, to the gym attendants and restaurant staff — I’ve rarely felt this looked after. Everyone here treats you like you’re a returning VIP, even if it’s your first stay. Class act, start to finish. 2. The Room – Old-school Saigon luxury. The kind of charm that feels cinematic. Big, elegant, spotless rooms loaded with thoughtful amenities. Think plush robes, slippers, vanity kits, the works. Feels more palace than hotel. 3. Pool/Spa/Gym – Absolutely wow. Pool with skyline views, spa and sauna that melt the travel fatigue away, and a gym that’s fully equipped and not an afterthought. You could literally check in for wellness alone. 4. Breakfast Buffet – THIS is how you know you’re in Asia. The free breakfast here puts many 5-star hotels in the West to shame. Pho made to order, fresh tropical fruits, dim sum, eggs your way, pastries, juices… I nearly cried. 5. Location – You’re smack in the beating heart of Saigon. Step outside and you’re in the middle of everything. Food, shopping, culture, nightlife — it’s all footsteps away. Don’t waste your time reading more reviews — if you’re a real traveler who knows the game, just book the Rex. You’ll understand why legends stayed here. Thank you Rex for amazing stay.

This hotel is rated five stars, but in my opinion, it doesn't quite live up to the expectation. While the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, the overall experience doesn't feel like it's worth the high rating. They also require a deposit in case of damage to the room, which is understandable, but it added to a sense of formality rather than comfort. It’s not a bad stay by any means, but for a five-star price, I expected more in terms of value and overall experience.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 days in the Rex Suite Twin room. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Saigon. A big thank you to Hanh and the team — the support was excellent, and the service was truly outstanding. Breakfast was also very good. The room isn’t modern, but it was extremely clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back and stay again

We had a fabulous one-night stopover at the Rex Hotel. Very spacious, lovely staff in all areas. We ate in the rooftop garden, with lovely views and air-flow. Excellent meal, including a complementary cocktail. Very relaxing atmosphere and decor. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

This place is nostalgic and shabby. The pool is surrounded by pigeons who roost on the window sills of the building. Swooping down to have a drink and a frolic in the pool. The pool itself has algae (or similar) growing around a submerged outlet, with fragments floating around the pool. The walls surrounding the pool are dirty and peeling The rooms are large. The very precious surfaces are cluttered. There are not enough convenient power points for hair drying or charging. Try for a top floor room otherwise you have to listen to people above walking on wooden floors above you - I swear the person above me was doing an aerobics class at 11pm. Breakfast is excellent. The dining room is beautiful. Position is excellent. Late checkout is priced exorbitantly (4 hours costs you more than buying one full day through a booking site). Extortion. Some front desk staff a little too personal / inappropriate in conversation. Keep it professional please. Stay here but just be aware it is old and shabby in places and is due a refurbishment.
